About once a
week, Chaplain Ron emails a spiritual vitamin pill to
anyone interested in receiving a very short message
that provides an opportunity to reflect on something
other than work, school or home activities. The
following is this week's mini-meditation and if you
would like to have them sent directly to you, just
email a simple "add me" note to ChaplainRon@dupageministries.org
AND THE LORD SAID TO SATAN,
"HAVE YOU NOTICED
MY SERVANT JOB, AND THAT THERE IS NO ONE
ON EARTH LIKE HIM, FAULTLESS AND UPRIGHT,
FEARING GOD AND AVOIDING EVIL? HE STILL HOLDS FAST
TO HIS INNOCENCE ALTHOUGH YOU INCITED ME
AGAINST HIM TO RUIN HIM WITHOUT CAUSE."
Job 2: 3
Many of us might be following the examples of saints
like Francis of Assisi or others.
Stories of saints often tell of the great things they
did with little about the struggles they
had to endure. Their road on earth was paved with
holy things to do and little to cause
despair.
Job might be a better example of our lives where
everyday things seem to keep going
wrong. The devil might not be working overtime on us
but it sure feels like it.
As bad things happen to us, we have a choice to make.
Do we want to remain cheerful
remembering all the blessings given us, or do we want
to live in misery blaming others
for our crosses?
Think of some of the people you know! Isn't it
amazing that those who seem to have the
least worldly possessions or suffer the greatest
diseases are often the most cheerful.
Peace,
Deacon Ron
